The Masterblaster™ "American Sender" Graphic

THIS IS A TRUE STORY... Back in the 60’s when dare devil Evil Knievel was every man, women and child’s American hero jumping 50 cars at a time on prime time TV, one inspired kid set his mind on becoming the real thing. His name was Normman Epperson.

As a teenager Norm and his friends were unknowingly part of a revolution using traditional banana seat street bikes to emulate motocross racers. Their crew would build dirt jumps in vacant lots and eventually with the help of parents, created full size BMX dirt tracks leading to the birth of the BMX racing scene in Southern California.

The photo I used on the base of this ski was taken by Mel Stoutsenberg, that one kid in every crew with the camera. One day a friend mentioned to Mel there’s a kid named Norm who wants someone to shoot him jumping cars so he could get discovered by Hollywood. Mel rolled up with his camera and snapped Norm’s first jump ever over the cars that you see here on this ski’s base. He landed first try!

Norm sent the photo to Hollywood and within the year was getting paid to do real stunts. Fast forward to today, Norm orchestrates some of the most epic car chase scenes you see in Hollywood's biggest movies!

I’m honored to have had a chance to talk with and work these pioneers of BMX’s earliest roots. In their honor, I’m building only 250 pair of this new Limited Edition graphic and hand signing and numbering each ski.

Also available is 35 of the original photograph hand signed and numbered by photographer Mel Stoutsenberger, as well as a collection of tee shirts, jacket, glassware, a patch, sticker and more all inspired by their story.

The Masterblaster™

125-96-114

Powerful, ultra responsive precision on firm snow that's equally fun & playful beyond the groomers

The “Masterblaster” is my newest ski, and has won awards from every magazine test it entered! I engineered it with ultra quick race-like handling and precision yet a unique split personality that’s also incredibly fun and playful when you get it in the powder. Unlike my other skis, it has a directional shape with a lower tail so there's more edge length in contact with the snow for the most grip possible on groomers. All of this is backed by my unique metal laminate construction for extra power and responsiveness when charging hard. If you liked the "Prophet" ski, think of this as it's new and improved mind blowing replacement! #JMasterblasterSki

Titanal Metal Laminate

More power & stability where you need it!
Unique to this model ski, I'm using a titanal metal laminate on the top and bottom of the core. Instead of running it edge to edge, tip to tail, I've optimized the metal laminate’s geometry & location running only narrow strips down the center and ending it before the tips. This way there's enough metal to dramatically increase power, stability & dampening over the length of the ski in contact with the snow, however the tips are lighter for dramatically reduced swing weight to maintain a nimble, lively & fun feel. You'll notice the tail of the ski metal geometry has slightly less metal to allow for a more playful and forgiving exit out of your turns while the tip has more for powerful initiation and reduced chatter in the tips. You'll feel like you're on a GS race ski when you're carving it up, yet be shocked how fun & nimble it feels in tight trees, chutes and even the bumps. Enjoy!
